While initially I loved the Shard, the sketch designs and particularly the engineering aspects of building the thing, I have to say that I now find the design looks quite dated and bland and the whole thing a bit of a let down, its architectural scale, a possible saving grace, is lost given the surroundings and the islaotion of the building on the south bank.
ReplyDeleteHaving gone past it yesterday on the train, I also think that's it is spoilt by the hideous glass box that looks like its tacked on the back as an afterthought...
