Tour de France

The sign reads "Tour de France. Free coffee for anyone wearing yellow or Lycra".

The Tour de France has come to London. I assume that after the huge success of the Olympics everything else just pales into insignificance but London just seems to take 'Le Tour' in its stride. It's as though this major sporting event rode through the streets of London every Monday morning. Not many people in the Trafalgar Square 'fan park'.

Trafalgar Square 'fan park'. "Welcome to Le Tour de France. Stage 3"

World Cup fever never really took off. By the time pub landlords had raised their beer sponsored bunting the whole thing was over (from an English perspective at least). All that remains are Thomas Heatherwick buses, re-sprayed black and plastered with Adidas sponsored footballers and logo. Unfortunately the players featured, such as Steven Gerard and Louis Suarez have long been supping fancy cocktails by holiday pools instead of dazzling us all on Brazilian pitches.

Whatever’s next……….bring it on.
