The Open Road London (1927)

  1. Brilliant piece of history on film. Fantasic opneing images of Tower Bridge Road and Tooley Street with trams operating. The emptiness of Marble Arch and Park Lane, so much so that pedestrians freely walk in the carriageway. Petticoat Lane, the stall selling stuffed toys [reminds me of the one Wardy got the sack from] and the fact that everyone looked well dressed and the streets were spotless.
Great film, will now have to look up others in the series.
